Otterman Named Chief Marketing Officer for William Hill US

Sports book operator William Hill US has named Sharon Otterman as the company’s chief marketing officer. Otterman joins William Hill US from the Madison Square Garden Company, where she served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

William Hill US has Named Sharon Otterman as chief marketing officer.

Otterman comes to William Hill from the Madison Square Garden Company, where she served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer and oversaw marketing for the company’s venues, sports franchises, and the Christmas Spectacular, starring the Radio City Rockettes.

William Hill US has been expanding in the American market after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a federal sports betting ban in May. The company currently operates 107 sports books in Nevada and has also opened two active sports books in New Jersey, at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Long Branch and Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City. The company is also expected to have sports book operations in Mississippi.

From 2009 to 2015, Otterman was senior vice president and chief marketing officer at NBC Universal, where she developed and executed brand and marketing strategies for all MSNBC and NBC News shows, including the Today Show, Meet the Press, and NBC Nightly News. She also served in marketing positions with ESPN, the company said in a press release.

“Sharon is a proven leader and we are thrilled that we could pull her away from one of the most high-profile jobs in sports marketing to join William Hill,” William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said in the release.
