The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released its eighth annual Diversity Report last week, providing a description of each casino’s activities related to the implementation of their diversity plans and the action taken by the entities to achieve the state’s goal of enhanced representation of diverse groups in the gaming industry.
Highlights from the report:
• Pennsylvania’s ten casinos and two resort casinos collectively employed 17,482 persons at the close of the state fiscal year of 2014-2015;
• 89.1 percent of casino employees are residents of Pennsylvania;
• 43 percent of these employees are female while 33% are racial minorities; and,
• casinos spent $511.7 million in 2014-2015 with other businesses for construction and non-construction expenses.

“The report not only outlines the work by Pennsylvania casinos to create diverse, employee friendly cultures, but is also an important document that allows the public to see how each individual casino is performing in the areas of diversity, community outreach, and outside expenditures,” said Mozelle Daniels, the board’s director of diversity.
“The leadership in Pennsylvania’s casinos are across the board, committed to meeting the mandates of the Gaming Act, thereby fostering participation and diversity in all aspects of their operations in the commonwealth… The casinos have proven to be significant partners within their respective business communities.”
The 2014-2015 Diversity Report also provides casino-by-casino information for items such as employment trends over a four-year period by race and gender, and a detailed breakdown of minority, women and local business expenditures.
