PA Gaming Board Suspends CEO

The chief executive officer of Valley Forge Casino Resort has been suspended by the state gaming board for allowing underage women to access the casino.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has handed a 15-day suspension to Michael Bowman, chief executive officer of Pennsylvania’s Valley Forge Casino Resort, for an incident last May in which, according to the board, Bowman “recklessly” allowed two underage women access to the casino.

The suspension, without pay, was accompanied by a requirement that Bowman participate in eight hours of training and issue a letter of apology to Valley Forge employees.

The incident occurred on Memorial Day 2013, when Bowman helped two women who were hotel guests and banquet attendees gain access to the casino floor, waving them past a security guard who had planned to check their IDs to make sure they were old enough. They were both 20.
