PAGCOR Approves New EGM Standards

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) has approved version 1.1 of its new technical standards for electronic gaming machines (EGMs). The standards will go into force on January 1, 2024.

According to Asia Gaming Brief, PAGCOR said the standards will guarantee that wagering on EGMs in casinos is conducted in a “fair, secure, reliable and auditable manner.”
PAGCOR, which regulates gaming in the country, said the technical standards will ensure that the machines operate with accuracy and reliability for the protection of players.

“These standards also establish the requirements for the design and operation of EGMs and provide guidance to testing laboratories and certification entities regarding EGM technical compliance.”

It’s been almost 10 years since EGM standards in the jurisdiction were last updated.
