Pair Charged In $100K Chip Theft

Two men have been charged in connection with the theft of a $100,000 gambling chip at the high-stakes, members-only Pearl Room at the Crown Perth casino in Australia. The chip was taken from a dealer's tray and recovered at the casino. Management is reviewing gaming floor procedures.

A 53-year-old man was charged with stealing and a 24-year-old man was charged with receiving a 0,000 gambling chip from the VIP high-stakes Pearl Room at the Crown Perth casino and entertainment complex. The men, both from Gosnells near Perth, Australia, are scheduled to appear in court on March 25. The chip was stolen from a dealer’s chip tray in the members-only room and was recovered at the casino when a woman tried to cash it in.

Crown Perth casino management have ordered a review of procedures on the gaming floor.

Just 12 months ago a gambler swindled $32 million from Crown Melbourne, using an accomplice to view surveillance camera feeds and tell the player how to bet.
