Pala Casino Spa & Resort, as part of its $170 million ongoing expansion just opened a new deluxe bar, more gaming area and renovations to the smoke free area and longtime established restaurant, Luis Rey’s, which is about twice the size of the original.
Pala previously opened its remodeled pool complex and hasn’t started construction on its second hotel tower. In the meantime, the casino resort unveiled the renovated spaces June 29.
The renovated Luis Rey’s now has an outdoor lounge area so that guests can sit inside or outside and enjoy breezes and spectacular views from the nearby mountains. The additional space now includes a stage for live music, where bands perform on the weekends.
Pala CEO Bill Bembenek told the Press-Enterprise, “We wanted to add elements that would energize the space. A big asset we have is the natural surroundings and we wanted to invite that element in.” The menu remains largely the same, which reflects the popularity of the burgers, tacos, salads and sandwiches currently offered.
The former Infinity Room bar has been transformed into the Marquise Bar, a 10,000 square foot gaming area with the bar in the center. Blackjack, roulette and 300 video poker and slot machines have been added around the bar, an area that Bembenek says was underutilized before.
The 15,000 SF smoke free gaming area was upgraded with 300 additional machines, glass partitions and a HVAC system to further insulate non-smoking guests from smoking guests, while opening up the view so guests don’t feel isolated. Guests will be able to enter through the hotel entrance without traveling through the smoking area.
Also expanded is Noodles, an Asian restaurant whose seating has been increased from 45 to 105 with double the kitchen space and cooking woks. Noodles has taken over the space from old Promenade Deli. It offers cuisine from Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan and Korea.
