Pala Casino Opens New Pool Complex

Pala Casino Spa & Resort in San Diego County has opened its new adult-only pool complex, called the Tourmaline Pools.

The new five pool complex with 14 luxury cabanas is part of the casino resort’s $170 million expansion. It also includes two oversized hot tubs, a poolside bar, dining and lounge area.

Upscale pool complexes are the new rage in the gaming industry and this is one of the largest to be unveiled in Southern California.

Pala CEO Bill Bembenek commented, “The U.S. casino industry has grown immensely over the past two decades and a large part of that growth is attributable to casino operators responding to the demands of their clientele for a broader range of recreational activities for them to enjoy when visiting a casino resort.”

He added, “Pala realized very early on that our diverse clientele are equally as diverse in how they define a quality recreational experience. Thus, we have consistently added resort amenities to our casino such as our Four-Diamond hotel and spa, 10 restaurants, our wine cave, several bars and lounges, multiple concert venues and most recently Tourmaline, Pala’s new adults-only pool experience.”

Expecting more business because of the new amenity the tribe has added a larger hotel parking garage with 420 additional spaces. The pool complex will be joined at the end of June by a new 15,000 square-foot enclosed non-smoking case and a 10,000 SF expansion of the main gaming floor.
