Panaji Bans Casino Ads

The Indian city of Panaji has ordered the removal of casino advertisements from signs near “heritage structures,” saying such ads are illegal. In one case, casinos were pitched on an informational sign at a mosque.

The city of Panaji, India has ordered the immediate removal of all casino advertisements near heritage structures, according to the Times of India. Activist Prajal Sakhardande had complained about the advertisements to Mayor Surendra Furtado.

In a widely reported cases, a casino ad was included in a signage that contained information about a historic mosque.
