Pansy Ho, businesswoman and daughter of Macau casino legend Stanley Ho, has been named the wealthiest woman in Hong Kong according to a report by Bloomberg. Ho, chairwoman of Shun Tak Holdings and managing director of Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau, also owns a 29 percent stake in the MGM Grand Macau. Her personal fortune was pegged at US$5.5 billion, according to the Macau News Agency.
Ho is also known as a patron of the arts. In June 2018, she received the Chevalier de L’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur, the highest French order of merit, for her contribution in advancing French culture abroad, MNA reported.
In October, she was nominated as the first ambassador in Macau of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, and also has been deeply involved in the MSAR’s Global Tourism Economy Forum.
