Paradise Co. Appoints Co-CEOs

South Korean casino operator Paradise Co. has announced it now has two chief executive officers: current CEO Choi Sunguk and newly appointed co-CEO Choi Jong-hwan.

Paradise Co., which operates the Paradise City integrated resort in Incheon, South Korea, has announced a new leadership system that includes two CEOs.

The revised structure, approved at a general shareholders’ meeting on March 22, retains current CEO Choi Sunguk, who has held the top position for three years, and adds Choi Jong-hwan as co-leader.

According to Inside Asian Gaming, the CEOs will preside over separate divisions, with Choi Sunguk in charge of external cooperation and Choi Jong-hwan overseeing management and finance divisions.

For more than a decade, Choi Jong-hwan has served as CEO of Paradise Sega Sammy, which operates Paradise City, and CEO of Paradise Global and Paradise Hotel Busan. In a filing, Paradise Co. said he has “performed various roles including CFO and group general manager since joining Paradise. He possesses essential experience and capabilities for the group’s strategic vision and sustainable growth.”

Choi Sunguk the shared goal is to “resolve business issues in line with the increasingly uncertain market environment and lay the foundation for business expansion and strengthening casino competitiveness.”
