Revenue statistics for the casinos in Pennsylvania for the fiscal year ended June 30 show Parx Casino in Bensalem continues its position as the state’s highest revenue-producer, while Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem remains the king on the table-game side.
Parx logged gaming revenue for the year of nearly $557 million for fiscal year 2016-17, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board—an increase of nearly 3 percent over the $543 million recorded last year. Sands Bethlehem logged $539 million in revenue, compared to $533.5 million last year.
Both casinos recorded jumps in table-game revenue, with Parx recording $170 million and Sands recording $235 million. The Sands revenue, up from $228 million last year, topped the state, continuing the casino’s reign as the top table-game casino in Pennsylvania.
“Parx has been the leader in revenue for slot machines since basically day one,” Gaming Control Board spokesman Doug Harbach said in a statement.
When combined, Parx and Sands accounted for about one-third of the state’s total gambling revenue, which amounted to $3.2 billion in the last fiscal year—down slightly, trailing the 2015-16 fiscal year total by $25 million due to a drop in slot machine revenue, nearly offset by growth at the tables.
