Paul Mallon spent 10 years as an advertising executive with Paddy Power, where he served as a key member of what was called the Mischief Making Department, has confirmed his departure.
Mallon, who leaves as head of brand marketing, has joined London advertising agency Lucky Generals, taking on the role of head of special ops, which sounds equally as intriguing as the mischief making department, according to SBC News.
As Paddy Power’s “Head of Mischief” from 2017 to 2020, Mallon spearheaded Paddy Power’s high-impact campaigns and the execution of its high-coverage media stunts. The stunts included gate crashing the
weigh-in of Floyd Mayweather’s record-breaking pay per view fight against Conor McGregor in 2017.
Mallon also pushed for Paddy Power to sponsor Brighton Pride in 2018, becoming one of the U.K.’s first mass-market brands to promote LGBTQ+ rights, equality and inclusion.
