The Pearl River Resort of Choctaw, Mississippi, owned and operated by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The resort opened in 1994 with the Silver Star Casino and now includes the Golden Moon Hotel and Casino, Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, Geyser Falls and Bok Homa Casino.
Public Relations Director Erica Moore said, “The 25th anniversary is a big deal, when you have a business that has longevity like we have, people see that and they take notice and they want to be a part of it. As much as we have with food, entertainment, gaming, there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy.”
Moore thanked the resort’s 2,000-plus employees, many of whom have worked at the resort since it opened. She also acknowledged the community for its support. “We want to say a big thank-you to everyone in the community and the surrounding areas who have come here and been a part of our family for 25 years,” Moore said.
The month-long celebration features concerts by KC & the Sunshine Band, Leona Lewis, the Charlie Daniels Band and Morris Day and the Time. A fireworks extravaganza was presented on July 4. In addition, the resort is giving away $25,000 in cash and prizes, Moore said.
