Pechanga Opens $285 Million Expansion

Pechanga Resort & Casino in Riverside County, California last week opened its $285 million expansion, which includes a 14-story hotel tower.

The opening came two years after breaking ground on the project, which further seals the resort’s claim to be the largest casino resort in California. It includes a 2,400-space parking garage. The hotel tower adds 568 rooms, for a total of 1,090 rooms. Many of them are larger king and queen suites. It has a 68,000-square foot event center with a 40,000 SF ballroom.

The expansion also includes a two-story spa with 17 treatment rooms, a fitness studio, private pools cabanas and massage services.

Another addition is the Lobby Bar restaurant.

More of the expansion will open in March, including the Pool Bar & Grill, which will complement the 4 ½ acre pool complex, called the Cove, that will include three pools, and will be separate from the resort’s existing pools. One pool will be for VIP guests. Another will have a swim up bar and the third is a family-friendly pool with water slides and splash pad.

The casino resort held a job fair on January 4 to help it fill 200 positions at the Cove. The resort has already added 750 new employees for the expansion.

The expansion relocated the gift shop and the resulting space made room for 143 new slots that will also be installed by March.
