Pennsylvania Casino Uses Beer as a Point of Differentiation

Visitors to Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Pennsylvania can vote on their favorite of two mystery beers, crafted by local Snitz Creek Brewery, now through June 6. The winning brew will be offered exclusively at the property along with more than 50 other draft and bottle choices.

Now through June 6, visitors to Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Pennsylvania will be able to vote for their favorite of two yet-to-be-named craft beers created by Snitz Creek Brewery in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Snitz brewery is developing the signature beer exclusively for the property the Hollywood Casino and the racetrack. An additional, rotating Snitz Creek draft also will be available throughout the property at Skybox, Mountain View, Hollywood on the Roof and the Paddock Cafe.

Hollywood Casino Executive Chef Allan Rupert said, “There’s a whole world of craft beer, and we were looking for a local partner who we could build a meaningful relationship and successful business relationship with.”

For voting purposes, the beers will be known Hollywood Ale 1 or Hollywood Ale 2. Snitz Creek owner Patrick Freer said “Hollywood Casino wants to let the customers decide which style they like based purely on the taste, color and aroma.” On June 6, the day of the Belmont Stakes, Hollywood Casino will host a beer reveal and naming party at the racetrack. A special Snitz Creek race will be featured that day, complete with a Snitz Trophy for the winning horse. An official release party for the new brew will be held June 18.

Hollywood Casino and Penn National Racecourse also offer local craft beers from Appalachian Brewing Company, Troegs Brewing Company, Spring House Brewing Company and Yards Brewing Company. The Skybox bar now offers more than 50 draft and bottle options.
