Officials at Parx Casino and Racing in Bensalem, Pennsylvania announced ground will be broken later this year for a 13-story, 300-room luxury hotel, expected to be completed in 2025. Mike Meginniss, legal counsel for the project said, “A hotel has always been a part of Parx casino’s plans. This is a natural evolution of the site.”
A new walkway will connect the hotel with the casino, Meginniss said. The hotel will have restaurants in the lobby and on the roof, each with a 300-seat capacity. The lobby restaurant will feature a show kitchen where chefs will be invited chefs to cook and lead special presentations, Meginniss said.
The hotel also will offer a presidential suite and four high-end suites offering panoramic views of the Philadelphia skyline, plus a coffee shop, spa and fitness center.
Parx Casino Chief Operating Officer John Dixon said a 14,000-square-foot, 800-capacity banquet hall will be available for local and regional meetings, business conferences, small exhibits and weddings.
Parx Casino generated $55.46 million in revenue in January 2023, up 7 percent from $51.81 million in January 2022, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission. Pennsylvania’s 16 casinos produced a total of $5.21 billion in revenue in 2022, compared to $4.73 billion in 2021.
Revenue from Parx Casino, which employs about 2,000 workers, goes toward Bensalem’s annual $300 Home Assistance Grant.
