Pennsylvania Region Holds Problem Gambling Forum

Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, home to Sands Bethlehem, is the site of several forum discussions on gambling addiction and how to address it.

Representatives from the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem are joining representatives from the Pennsylvania Council on Compulsive Gambling and the Northampton County Drug & Alcohol council for a series of free forums on the problem of gambling addiction and how to address it.

The four public forums, funded by county and state grants, will discuss the impact problem gambling has had on the community and what is being done to battle it. The first, titled “Managing the Madness of Gambling, was held April 20 at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem. Future forums will be held April 27, May 18 and June 13; all but the last are at the college. The final session will be at the Clean Slate recovery center in Bangor.

The community meetings feature panel discussions by the casino and problem-gambling officials.
