Pennsylvania Releases Casino Worker Covid-19 Data

Regulator in Pennsylvania have reported only 108 cases of Covid-19 out of 16,000 casino workers, meaning less than 1 percent of workers have tested positive.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released data on coronavirus cases among workers in the state’s 12 casinos, and the results were welcome. Out of 16,000 casino workers, there have been only 108 positive Covid-19 tests since the beginning of the pandemic.

The announcement means that less than 1 percent of casino employees have tested positive. The Bucks County Courier Times reported that half of those cases were at Rivers Pittsburgh, with 28, and Parx Casino in Bensalem, with 25.

The information on casino worker Covid-19 cases had originally been withheld by the gaming board, which cited employee confidentiality. However, after a public appeal, the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records ordered the board to release the information.
