Peter Mead Dies

Peter Mead, the publisher of gaming trade magazine Casino Enterprise Management, has died at the age of 54.

Peter Mead, founder and publisher of the gaming industry trade magazine Casino Enterprise Management, died suddenly last week at the age of 54.

Mead, a well-known and respected member of the gaming press, created CEM in 2002, transforming a Minnesota-based product-information journal into a trade magazine featuring columns from leading gaming executives in many industry segments.

“Peter relished his role as publisher,” said a statement from the magazine. “He loved to be around the insiders who made the gaming industry tick, to hear their ideas on gaming today and tomorrow, share some of his own thoughts, and take action to make the industry more informed and better prepared for change. He went out of his way to champion some of the industry’s smaller players, to give them exposure and try to level the playing field a bit, while still ensuring strong coverage of the major players as well…

“At CEM, we promise to honor Peter’s legacy and strong commitment to the gaming industry.”
