Philippine Group Announces Third Casino Resort

Philippine casino operator Bloomberry Resorts Corp. plans to start construction on its third Philippine casino resort in Paniman, 41 miles southwest of Metro Manila, next year.

Jonas Isaac Ramos, Bloomberry director for investor relations, said the company would begin “major construction works at Paniman after we open Solaire North at the end of next year.”

A topping-out ceremony was held in late July at Solaire North, now under construction in Vertis, northeast of Manila. Ramos said the property will have up to 600 hotel rooms, 250 table games and 3,000 slot machines.

Ramos said Bloomberry will purchase 692 acres in Paniman for the casino resort for around $135 million, following receipt of clear titles from landowners.

In addition, Bloomberry announced it signed a non-binding agreement with another Philippine business, PH Resorts Group Holdings Inc., which is developing casino resorts in Cebu and Clark. In a second-quarter report, PH Resorts stated “due diligence” was “ongoing.”
