In a sign that eSports betting is continuing to grow, Pinnacle announced it recently accepted its five millionth bet on an eSports match.
Pinnacle took its first eSports bet in 2010. It didn’t take its three millionth bet until last year, the company said in a press release. That means Pinnacle has seen two million bets on eSports in about six months.
“When Pinnacle accepted the first ever bet on eSports in 2010 none of us knew if it would be a one hit wonder or could turn into something bigger,” Paris Smith, CEO of Pinnacle said in the release. “Five million bets later, our expectations have been exceeded. I think it’s fair to say we’re at the forefront of the most exciting and fastest growing betting markets.”
