Playmaker, a sports betting social media company, has announced that veteran media executive Mike Stricoff will be joining the company in an advisory capacity.
As part of the new role, Stricoff will help Playmaker develop content for media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Snap Discover.
Stricoff has worked as a producer for MLB Network and Fox Sports, and most recently spent five years working at Snap Inc., where he primarily developed partnerships for sports content. He will now use that experience to help foster Playmaker’s ongoing relationship with Snap, where it has over 30 shows which fetch millions of views per month.
“Mike has an unbelievable knowledge base and network built up from his many years leading sports content at Snap,” Brandon Harris, CEO of Playmaker said in a statement. “He’s going to be able to offer a new, higher level perspective on our content strategy and open doors for us to create massive new partnerships.”
Stricoff added: “During my time at Snap, I watched Playmaker grow from having a few compelling sports shows on Discover to being a real force for creating excellent mobile-first content across verticals.
“They have a talented team that understands young audiences and deploys innovative storytelling techniques in order to reach them. I am excited to help fuel their already impressive growth trajectory in any way that I can.”
