Playtech Delayed in Plus500 Acquisition

Regulatory delays have meant that Playtech is not likely to complete its acquisition of Plus5000 until November, company officials said.

Playtech says it may not be able to complete its acquisition of London-listed CFD provider Plus500 until November while it tries to obtain regulatory approvals.

Due to the high-profile of the acquisition, it is taking longer to receive all regulatory approvals than originally anticipated, the company told Yognet.com

Playtech officials said they hope the deal can be completed in October, but said that it may take until November for the regulatory assessment to be completed, the website said.

Under the deal, Playtech will pay £459.6m for the CFD provider.

Officials said they do not believe that there are any issues that would stop the deal from being approved. The deal has already been approved by Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, according to Yogonet.
