Playtech Opens Live Casino Studio in Romania

Playtech has opened a live casino facility in Bucharest hoping to meet the need for live online play in the country. Playtech has received four licenses for live online casino play in the newly regulated country.

Playtech has opened a live casino studio facility in Bucharest, Romania to meet the live online play demand from licensed online sites in the newly regulated country.

The company said its new facility employs native dealers and bolsters its position as one of the world’s leading live casino software and content providers. Playtech has live casino studios in Manila and across Europe including Latvia and other regulated markets including Spain and Belgium to cater to local audiences in regulated and soon-to-be regulated jurisdictions, the company said in a press release.

Romania opened its newly regulated, licensed online gaming framework earlier this year with Playtech is approved in Romania for four licenses including software, live studio, platform and hosting services, the release said.

In another matter, Playtech’s board of directors announced that the company’s former Chief Financial Officer Ron Hoffman is taking the helm of the financials division of the company as CEO effective immediately. He is also relinquishing his position on the company’s board.

The current head of investor relations, Andrew Smith, is succeeding Ron Hoffman as Playtech’s CFO and is joining the board as an executive director, the company said.
