The Plaza Hotel & Casino announced that it is offering a blast from the past with two Silver Strike slot machines, the 1980s-vintage slot machine that features an optional payout of $10 silver collector coins.
As casino floors evolved over the years, Silver Strike slot machines became less prevalent as more high-tech machines were added. Now considered a historic game with only a handful of machines still in existence, the Silver Strike has a growing and dedicated fan base, many of whom are loyal Plaza customers. To meet growing customer demand and further diversify its gaming offerings, the Plaza recently obtained two of the industry’s remaining machines.
The completely refurbished Silver Strike slot machines at the Plaza resemble those of the bygone era, awarding winning players one of four specially designed $10 silver-clad collector coins. Players can decide whether to keep the unique Plaza collector coin, in an effort to win the complete set, or cash it in.
“We continually look for ways to enhance our casino experience with not only the latest technology but also games that pay homage to our gaming history,” said Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza Hotel & Casino. “Retro games like Silver Strike are increasing in popularity today, just like vinyl records are in the music industry. We know our guests will enjoy the opportunity to play Silver Strike machines, and we are excited to bring them back to our casino floor.”
