The president of sports and horse race betting operator Pari-Mutuel Urbain resigned his post effective May 26. Bertrand Méheut said he will “devote himself fully to other professional projects as well as to personal commitments.”
According to iGamingBusiness.com, Director General Cyril Linette will be responsible for determining the company’s strategy, “in continuity with the work undertaken for two years.”
PMU praised Méheut’s “innovative and ambitious marketing vision” and confirmed that a new, non-executive president will be appointed June 9.
In October 2019, PMU hailed the success of its “revitalization program” after consecutive growth quarters for its racing vertical. Also in 2019, PMU began an executive team restructuring with Linette’s guidance, tasked with revamping French racing’s profile to the general public.
At the time, the operator revealed that it had chosen to refocus the PMU as a French betting enterprise, disposing of its international racing assets and ending further diversification activities.
