PokerStars Introduces Casino Games in Spain

PokerStars has launched a new slate of casino games to go along with its online poker offerings on its Spanish Site. The new games include roulette and blackjack. The move could mean PokerStars will offer casino games in New Jersey, where it is expected to be licensed.

PokerStars is now more than just an online poker site. Well, in Spain anyway.

PokerStars is now offering roulette and blackjack to its Spanish players on PokerStars.es. Players can play for both real-money and for fun.

The launch is expected to be followed by casino game launches at PokerStars sites in other jurisdictions such as Italy, and possibly New Jersey where PokerStars hopes to be licensed and begin operating before the end of the year—and possibly this month.

With online game provider Amaya Gaming now in control of PokerStars, the move to add casino games was expected.

“We know that many of our customers are enjoying online casino games on competing platforms and our offering will enhance their experience with PokerStars and provide a safe, trusted and convenient way for them to be entertained,” said Gino Appiotti, PokerStars’ President of the region covering Southern Europe. “PokerStars aims to remain as the number one poker operator in Spain and strongly believes that in this market, adding casino games is the best way to serve players.”
