PokerStars Partners With Mexican Chain for Payment Plan

PokerStars has entered into an agreement with OXXO convenience stores in Mexico for a player payment plan. The move helps the company in a country where most residents do not have access to online banking.

PokerStars has announced a deal with Mexican convenience store chain, OXXO to allow customers to make deposits at the chain’s more than 13,000 stores across the country.

The move should open up PokerStars to millions of players who don’t have access to online banking and credit cards, which are rare in Mexico.

The system will be similar to arrangements in Europe and the U.S. to allow for online payments at convenience stores such as 7-Eleven stores.

Users will get a unique voucher code when making a deposit. The player must then visit their local OXXO store with a physical copy of the voucher and pay the cashier. The cash will be deposited in the user’s account within 24 hours, according to the company.
