Political Wives of Casino Executives

Full House Resorts CEO Dan Lee’s wife, Susan, is running for a congressional seat, while MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren’s wife, Heather (l.), is considered a front-runner in a race she hasn’t even entered to replace an outgoing Democratic member of Congress.

MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren and Full House Resorts CEO Dan Lee each have politically active wives who soon might be members of Nevada’s congressional delegation.

Susan Lee seeks the Democratic nod in Nevada’s 4th District, while Heather Murren might seek the Democratic nomination in the 3rd Congressional District, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.

Lee faces a crowded field of candidates in the Democratic primary, while Murren would be a likely front-runner in the 3Rd District’s primary if she entered the race, the Review Journal reported.

Lee is the former executive director of a homeless shelter for single women, single parents with children, and families, launched the After-Schools All Stars program for local youth, and since 2010 has been board president of Communities in Schools.

Lee must overtake a state senator and two former state lawmakers to win her primary, while Murren already won a soft endorsement from U.S. Senator Harry Reid, who said she would be “exactly the right person” for the job, the Review Journal reported.
