Portugal Accepting Bids for 2 Casino Licenses

Portugal’s Gaming Regulation and Inspection Services (SRIJ) is accepting bids for two land-based gaming concessions. The deadline is the middle of September.

The existing concessions for the casinos of Figueira da Foz and Estoril will end on December 31 of this year. They were supposed to have expired two years ago, but were extended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

New licensees will get 15-year concessions with the possibility of being renewed for five years.

Domestic and foreign businesses may apply, although foreign operators must be based in the European Union or European Economic Area. They must also be signatories of internationally recognized anti-money laundering standards.
