The Prairie Band Casino and Resort (l.) in Mayetta, Kansas has undergone numerous changes since it opened in January, 1998. In its 21 years, the property has added more than 190 hotel rooms, more than 20 gambling tables, a golf course, restaurants and a coffee bar, plus it recently was renovated.

Prairie Band Casino and Resort in Mayetta, Kansas is celebrating its 21st anniversary this month. The property has changed since 1998 with the addition of more hotel rooms, a larger casino and more entertainment options. Director of Marketing John Tuckwin said, “There are so many different kinds of entertainment that we offer here. The restaurants, the hotel. There’s just something for everyone here.”

In the past two-plus decades, Prairie Band has added more than 190 hotel rooms, more than 20 gambling tables, a golf course and several restaurants. Most recently, the casino underwent a complete renovation and added a coffee bar in the main lobby.

General Manager Bill Marsh said, “The Prairie Band Casino and Resort has provided a number of jobs and improved the economy in the surrounding areas over the past 21 years.”

Future plans include a new bar and grill opening this April, plus a new parking garage and indoor and outdoor pools in 2020.
