Pratte New Navajo Chief of Staff

The Navajo Nation has named Clara Pratte chief of staff for the Office of the President and Vice President. She has worked for the Navajo and other tribes in various capacities for many years.

Clara Pratte has been named chief of staff for the Office of the President and Vice President of the Navajo Nation. Her first day was November 6.

She has worked for the Navajo Nation and other tribes as national director of the U.S. Small Business Administration for the Office of Native American Affairs, director of the Navajo Nation Washington Office and interim chief executive officer of the NOVA Corporation. She was also vice president of Bracy, Tucker, Brown and Valanzano.

Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye issued a statement: “I am extremely excited to welcome Clara Pratte to the Office of President and Vice President. With the hiring of our new chief of staff, we continue to invest in strong leaders who set the tone for the administration and the Navajo Nation as a whole.”

Pratte graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Business Administration and earned a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

In 2010, she was named as one of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development’s 40 Under 40 Award for demonstrating leadership, initiative, dedication and making significant contributions in business and in her community.
