The Tulalip Tribes of Washington state are in the middle of building the Quil Ceda Creek Casino across the street from its original casino on 15 acres just off the Tulalip off ramp from Interstate 5.
At 126,700 square feet it will be more than double the size of that casino. The tribe is looking at opening the new and improved casino next year. Construction began about 18 months ago.
The tribe plans to continue operating its original casino right up until the new one is ready to open, according to President and COO Ken Kettler of the of Tulalip Gaming Organization.
It will have 1,500 slot machines, 16 gaming tables, a larger entertainment lounge, three bars, a full-serving restaurant, food court and a smoke management system. The six-story parking structure will accommodate 1,000 cars, 700 more than currently.
