Grand reopening June 26

The Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel on the holiday island of Jeju, South Korea, has reopened its casino following extensive renovations, the company has announced.

The foreigners-only gaming hall will host an “official grand opening” June 26, a news release said. The former Ramada Plaza Jeju Casinos has been renamed Gongzi Jeju, reports GGRAsia.

“Gongzi Jeju has undergone an impressive interior design revamp by Westar Architects International Ltd.,” the release said. It added that the 40,000-square-foot (3,716-square-meter) casino included more than 40 gaming tables and an unspecified number of slot machines.

The Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel is a short drive from Jeju International Airport. It was “founded and financed by the Korean Teachers Credit Union” under a franchise agreement with Ramada, a hotel chain brand owned by international hotel group Wyndham Worldwide Corp., the company’s website says. The 10-story hotel opened in July 2003 with 400 hotel rooms.
