ReelMetrics Provides Cabinet Comparison

ReelMetrics has launched a new service in which subscribers can view comparative rankings for a variety of gaming machine cabinet styles by cost, form or other factors.

Data science firm ReelMetrics BV announced that it has successfully completed the launch of its new Cabinets Suite, an integrated ReelMetrics service that enables subscribers to perform cabinet-centric analyses within the company’s pan-industrial slot data repository.

“The Cabinets Suite is a natural extension of ReelMetrics’ offering,” stated Homayun Zahidi, ReelMetrics’ chief technology officer. “Since early 2017, our subscribers have utilized ReelMetrics to select, configure and market slot games far more efficiently than they have historically.

“As our application suite for games grew in depth and sophistication,” Zahidi continued, “our subscribers began requesting similar functionality on the hardware side. With Cabinets, we’re confident that our subscribers will capture in hardware the same dramatic efficiencies that they’re experiencing on the game (software) side.”

Cabinets soft-launched on November 30, and activated for all ReelMetrics subscribers on December 3.

“In many ways, purchasing decisions related to cabinets are even more consequential than those made for games,” said Julien Hofstede, the firm’s technical architect. “With capital expenditures in the range of $20,000 per Class III slot machine and cabinet-specific libraries limited to, perhaps, a handful of performance titles,” seven-digit slip-ups are more common than not. With Cabinets, this is the problem on which we’ve trained our crosshairs. Using it, casinos the world over can, for the first time ever, utilize enormous, pan-industrial data sets to evaluate cabinet-related decisions securely, confidently and in advance of lofty capex and opex outlays.”

With Cabinets, ReelMetrics subscribers can perform comparative, cabinet-specific searches and rankings, using filters specific to supplier, cost model, game type, platform, release date, form factor, sample size (terminals and venues), game library size and performance (core and premium), physical dimensions and ergonomics, traditional and blended performance indicators and more. It’s the latest addition to the ReelMetrics On-Demand and Prescriptive Analytics offerings, which assist slot operators in slashing trial and error and calibrating inventory for optimum performance.

At present, Cabinets contains detailed profiles on 166 cabinets currently offered for sale by the gaming industry’s leading slot manufacturers. Over the coming months, coverage will be expanded to cover legacy Class III equipment as well as ETGs and Class II offerings.
