René Jensen to head Netherlands gaming regulator

Rene Jensen has been named to head the regulatory agency that oversees gaming in the Netherlands. Jensen takes office October 1.

Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) which regulates gaming in the Netherlands has confirmed that René Jensen has been named to head the agency and will take over October 1.

He comes on board as the government is reviewing revamping its gaming regulatory framework, specially how its treats online gaming. This has been under debate in the Danish Senate since 2016, when it was approved by the lower house.

Progress on the framework has stalled on issues such as taxation and state owned enterprises.

KSA announced “The Gaming Authority sees Jansen and van Buchem as the right people to continue the course taken by the KSA and to lead the organization through the planned modernization of the gaming policy.”
