Report: Gary McGann Interested in Paddy Power Chairmanship

According to a report in the Irish Times, retiring Smurfit Kappa CEO Gary McGann is interested in becoming Chairman at Irish bookmaker Paddy Power.

The Irish Times has reported that soon to retire Smurfit Kappa CEO Gary McGann is hoping to become next chairman of Paddy Power Plc, replacing current incumbent Nigel Northridge.

Northridge, however, who has been paddy power’s chairman since 2009, has not said he is leaving. McGann has reportedly inquired with regards to taking over as Chairman once the position is available.

McGann has advised Paddy Power as a non-executive director and a member of the company’s audit committee, to which he was appointed in November 2014.

McGann did not comment on the report.
