The gaming/financial newsletter Earnings+More has reported that Entain, the online gaming giant recently slammed with a £615 million settlement involving alleged bribery, is seeking to sell its PartyPoker online poker site.
The newsletter cited unnamed sources in saying the price for PartyPoker is likely to be at a tiny fraction of the value of the business . “Speaking on condition of anonymity, one source with knowledge of the Entain business said the move ‘made sense’ and reflected the apparent recent change in the company’s focus,” the newsletter reported.
The rumor was, at press time, unconfirmed by other sources. Due in part to the big settlement, payable over four years, Entain reported a net loss of £936.5 million, despite an 11.1 percent rise in net gaming revenue.
