Resorts World Las Vegas Plans June 24 Grand Opening

The Nevada Gaming Commission recently granted licenses and regulating authority to Genting Group, and its publicly traded subsidiary, Genting Malaysia Berhad to open Resorts World Las Vegas on June 24.

Hailed to be the “most sophisticated, state-of-art casino in the world,” the $4.3 billion property is the first ground-up development on the Las Vegas Strip in over a decade and speculated to one of the largest casino projects on Las Vegas Strip’s long-standing history.

Praising the impressive massive development project, the Nevada Gaming Commission is hopeful Resorts World Las Vegas will bring a much-needed positive boost as casinos and operators struggle in post-pandemic recovery efforts.

Commissioner Rosa Soli-Rainey commended the group, “All the work that you’ve done and the investment that you’re putting into the state of Nevada and the Las Vegas economy right now.”

News of this much-anticipated opening comes as local lawmakers plan for businesses, restaurants, stores and shows to reopen at 100 percent starting June 1 after being ordered to shut down in March 2020.

“We are filled with gratitude and excitement as we approach our opening this June and hope to play a role in Las Vegas’s rebound after what has been an incredibly challenging year for the destination and greater hospitality industry,” said Scott Sibella, President of Resorts World Las Vegas, in a statement.

Next on Sibella’s agenda? Primary efforts will focus on hiring more than 4,000 people over the next three weeks for a total workforce of 5,500 to successfully operate the 59-story Resorts World property featuring three Hilton-branded hotels, exclusive upper-floor Crockfords gambling and hotel area, over 40 restaurants and lounges, multiple spas, swimming pools and 300,000 square feet of event space.
