
Resorts World Las Vegas has announced a series of changes to its leadership team, including Carlos Castro becoming President.
The operator said on LinkedIn that Castro will combine this with his current role as Chief Financial Officer. Castro only recently joined as CFO and Chief Operating Officer in February this year.
Castro is an experienced gambling executive, having previously been Senior Vice President and CFO of AIA Resort & Casino. He has also worked for MGM Resorts International, Mandalay Bay, Paris/Bally’s Las Vegas and Caesars Entertainment.
“As a well-respected and highly experienced hospitality leader, Carlos will lead the organization by continuing to attract top talent and usher Resorts World into the next stage of its growth,” Resorts World Las Vegas said.
CEO Dixon Takes Board Advisory Role
Meanwhile, Resorts World Las Vegas also confirmed that CEO Alex Dixon will move into a new role. He will now serve as a Senior Advisor to its board of directors.
In this position, the operator said Dixon will drive enterprise projects, build new strategic partnerships, and work to develop synergies across the Resorts World properties.
“Our leadership knows our best days are around the corner,” the operator said. “This is the next phase in our evolution.”

In other news, the operator has also appointed Josef Wagner as its new Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage and Hospitality Development.
Another industry veteran, Wagner joins after almost 10 years with MGM Resorts, where he held several senior food and beverage roles.
Before this, he had spells with the Venetian, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Wynn Las Vegas.
