Resorts World Manila Approved for Expansion

The Philippines’ biggest casino is set to get a lot bigger. Resorts World Manila is adding more than 400 new table games and 4,100 more slots, expanding its two hotels and planning to build two more.

Travellers International Hotel Group has been approved by regulatory authorities in the Philippines to expand its sizable casino at Resorts World Manila.

Travellers says it will add 420 table games and 4,148 gaming machines on top of the 287 tables, 1,822 slot machines and 210 electronic table games it already has at the complex.

Travellers is also expanding the Maxims and Marriott hotels at the site and plans to add a Hilton Manila and Sheraton Hotel Manila for a total of 1,100 additional rooms.

Resorts World is located next to the city’s international airport and has emerged as the country’s largest and most lucrative casino since opening in 2010.

Travellers, a joint venture between Genting Hong Kong and Philippine retail and property giant Alliance Global Group, also is licensed to develop one of the four destination-scale casinos planned for the government’s Entertainment City complex on Manila Bay.
