On July 21, Resorts World Manila announced a rebranding of the integrated resort property, located in the Entertainment City casino zone. It is now known as Newport World Resorts.
As reported by the Philippine Star, the company said its new brand “reflects a shift in perspective for the brand to present itself as the most innovative, dynamic and comprehensive casino, hotels and entertainment complex in the country.”
“Newport World Resorts is reinventing the brand to bring together its pioneering integrated resorts and the best of its community within the sprawling Newport City complex,” it added.
The property’s two main wings will be known as the Newport Grand Wing and the Newport Garden Wing. Its international hotel brands, including the Marriott Manila, Sheraton Manila, Hilton Manila, Hotel Okura Manila and Holiday Inn Express Manila, have not changed.
The former Resorts World Manila opened in 2009 adjacent to Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI), one of the property’s joint venture owners, recently announced it will invest PHP4 billion (US$75 million) on expansion projects at the property this year.
