Resorts World Las Vegas and Wynn Resorts plan to team up with Elon Musk for underground access from their properties to the soon-to-be-expanded Las Vegas Convention Center.

Musk, who’s Boring Company is tunneling under the convention center for a high-tech transit system that may one day take in all the Las Vegas Strip and McCarran International Airport, is communicating with both operators about people-movers to whisk conventioneers to and from Resorts World and Wynn’s Encore casino hotel, entirely below street level.

Resorts World has submitted plans to Clark County for a proposed passenger station and tunnel that will move people in Tesla vehicles, according to local news reports.

“Convention guests would no longer have to worry about long walks or gridlock traffic around the convention center𑁋they could take the transportation system to Resorts World Las Vegas for lunch, meetings or personal appointments and be back to their conference or expo in minutes,” said Resorts World LV President Scott Sibella.

Wynn also has submitted a land-use application to the county for a similar system.

“The connector is an important step for Wynn as the resort continues its investments in the future of eco-friendly meetings and conventions in Las Vegas,” the company said.

Resorts World Las Vegas is scheduled to open next summer. The Las Vegas Loop, part of the convention center expansion, is slated to be finished by January.

Some observers believe the Musk project could span the Las Vegas Strip and even connect to McCarran Airport, something the existing monorail has been seeking for years.
