Responsible Gambling Foundation Introduced in Malta

Malta has created a Responsible Gambling Foundation to address problem gambling.

Though officials say percentages of problem gamblers are low, Malta has created a Responsible Gambling Foundation.

Malta’s Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness and Economic Growth, Edward Zammit Lewis, said that problem gambling remains serious enough to warrant a national policy.

He said that the Foundation would be independent, but with close links to regulator Lotteries and the Gaming Authority which, together with the European Union and online and land gambling operators licensed in Malta, would fund the body.
