At its meeting last September, the Responsible Gaming Coalition agreed on industry-led responsible gaming standards and added three new members: Fanatics Betting and Gaming, Hard Rock Digital and PointsBet. The group, a coalition of the largest online gaming operators in the U.S., now has nine members, including Bally’s, BetMGM, DraftKings, Entain, FanDuel and MGM Resorts International.
Rachel Kasper, senior vice president of legal and compliance of PointsBet US, said, “Responsible gambling is a core priority for our business and requires meaningful collaboration with all stakeholders, inclusive of operators competing within the same markets, to promote this aspect of our industry and ensure safe practices are followed.”
Anthony D’Angelo, senior manager, Responsible Gaming for Fanatics Betting & Gaming, noted, “We are proud to collaborate and partner with our industry colleagues. We are committed to the 12 responsible gaming principles and providing our fans tools and resources to enjoy our products.”
Danny Cook, senior vice president of operations at Hard Rock Digital, stated, “Hard Rock Digital is pleased to have this opportunity to collaborate with our fellow operators to promote and maintain an industry wide atmosphere of responsible gambling. We’re committed to ensure a safe and enjoyable online gaming experience.”
The operators developed reports explaining how their projects and activities promote the 12 principles of responsible gaming, including:
- Launching responsible gaming tools and sites;
- Appointing Responsible Gaming Ambassadors;
- Committing to the need for a nationwide responsible gambling toll-free helpline;
- Establishing research partnerships with industry leading institutions;
- Partnering with the National Council on Problem Gambling.
In addition, members strive to receive the RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council (a separate entity from the coalition), the leading international authority on responsible gambling. To receive this coveted accreditation, an organization must undergo a thorough evaluation of its responsible gaming program, including policies, procedures and training.
Adam Greenblatt, chief executive officer at BetMGM, said, “We are proud to have received this prestigious RG Check certification. This accreditation is a testament to our ongoing efforts to promote responsibility throughout our business and to ensure the well-being of our customers. We will continue to work closely with the RGC and other industry partners to promote a culture of safe and enjoyable gambling.”
