Revenues Rising At Mississippi Coast Casinos

Mississippi's 11 Gulf Coast casinos delivered a 7 percent increase in January 2015 over January 2014, at $87.3 million. Statewide, Mississippi casinos won $165 million January 2015, up 3.4 percent from $159 million in January 2014. It's the fifth time in 31 months that the state's casinos have delivered month-over-month increases.

Gains at Mississippi Gulf Coast casinos continue with revenues increasing 2.1 percent over the past 12 months, according to state department of revenue figures. The 11 coastal casinos won .3 million, up 7 percent from January 2014. The 17 river casinos won .7 million, down less than 1 percent from last year.

Statewide, casinos won $165 million in January, up 3.4 percent over $159 million in January 2014. The results indicate only the fifth time in the last 31 months that Mississippi casinos have delivered similar increases.

The numbers do not include Choctaw Indian casinos since they do not report winnings to the state.
