RGB to Install 900-Plus Slots at Star Vegas

Australia-listed Donaco International Ltd. has announced that a subsidiary of Malaysian casino supplier RGB International Bhd will provide more than 900 new slot machines for Donaco’s Star Vegas in Cambodia.

RGB Ltd., a subsidiary of RGB International Bhd, will provide more than 900 new slot machines for Donaco International’s Star Vegas Resort and Club in Poipet, Cambodia.

The new machines, valued at more than US$25 million, will replace old units at the property, said Donaco in a filing to the Australian Securities Exchange.

Joey Lim Keong Yew, Donaco’s managing director and chief executive, said in a statement: “We have identified a significant opportunity to replace legacy equipment and business arrangements at the Star Vegas with improved deal terms, as well as the latest gaming technology and machines for our customers.”

Donaco currently operates 1,522 slot machines at Star Vegas. Of those, 1,234 were supplied by distributors on a revenue-share basis, with the remaining 288 machines owned by Donaco. The new slot machines also will be provided under a revenue share deal, with “no up-front cost” for Donaco.

The new equipment will include technology and games from Aristocrat Leisure Ltd., Scientific Games Corp., International Game Technology Plc and Konami Gaming, said the casino operator.

“RGB will also supply a sophisticated new slot machine and casino table game management system, replacing and upgrading existing systems at the property,” stated Donaco.

The company said it expected the new slot machines “to generate increased revenue for the slot machine business at Star Vegas,” starting in December 2017. The new slot machines and systems are set to be installed “progressively over the following six months,” said the firm.

“We are very pleased to sign a new agreement with RGB to maintain and enhance our existing relationship,” said Lim. “We have identified a significant opportunity to replace legacy equipment and business arrangements at the Star Vegas with improved deal terms, as well as the latest gaming technology and machines for our customers. This latest deal represents another step forward in Donaco putting its management stamp on the business.”
