Ride Genie OK’d in Nevada

The Nevada Transportation Authority has approved an “e-hailing app” that lets customers call for a limousine with a smartphone. Integrity Vehicle Solutions’ Ride Genie app was unanimously OK’d by the three-member board.

Visitors to Las Vegas can now summon a limo to the door with a smartphone app. Integrity Vehicle Solutions’ Ride Genie app enables customers to digitally hail a limousine, track the progress of the vehicle, and pay for the ride electronically through a preregistered credit card.??

The service won’t be available until limousine companies submit tariff requests for approval by the Transportation Authority, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal. So far, at least five limousine companies have expressed interest in using Ride Genie and three have already submitted tariff requests that are expected to be heard by the authority board in August.

“Every day, more and more services are going digital,” said board Chairman Andrew MacKay. “So it’s not just the 40 million tourists who visit Las Vegas that will use this. Everybody stands to benefit as a result of this technology.”

??“I’m glad to see we’re getting ahead of the curve on this,” added Commissioner George Assad.??

Las Vegas Limousine, Presidential Limousine and Bell Transportation already have submitted tariff requests and On Demand Sedan and the Alan Waxler Group have plans to enter the e-hailing market as well.
