Rush Street Gaming officials say they are happy with the pace of progress at their 0 million Rivers Casino development in Schenectady, New York.
During a recent media tour, Rush Street Vice President of Operations Joe Scibetta told reporters the work flow “continues all day long here, and we’re very satisfied with the progress the casino’s made at this point,” Time Warner Cable News reported.
A 50,000-square-foot gaming floor will be home to 1,150 slots, 66 table games, including roulette and craps, and 16 poker tables.
The casino overlooks the nearby river, and during the daytime, natural light will provide most of the indoor lighting.
The development includes a 10,000-square-foot banquet room, which has an additional 3,000 square feet of riverfront event space, for a total combined event space of 13,000 square feet.
An events center that holds up to 900 also is in the works, as well as a marketplace.
Scibetta said the casino should open early next year, with 1,200 workers. Hotel work, though, is going slower than planned, mostly due to increasing its size from 150 rooms to 165, Scibetta said.
A dealer training school is scheduled to start in October and employ 350.
