Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has resumed construction of the $60 million, 219-room Landing Hotel, which will be adjacent to the casino in Pittsburgh’s North Shore District. Construction was halted early last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We’re excited to get The Landing Hotel Pittsburgh back underway,” said Rivers Assistant GM Bud Green in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It’s been a long time coming, and we’re eager to add this new hospitality venue to our North Shore offerings.”
Contractor Massaro Corp. resumed work on the steel beam framing of the seven-story, four-star hotel, which will include 10 luxury terrace suites with private first-floor patios. Rooms in the hotel will feature expansive window offering views of the showcase fountain at Point State Park and of Mount Washington, the imposing hill that overlooks the city.
The project is reportedly generating 1,400 construction jobs, and 128 new permanent jobs after opening.
The hotel is expected to support the events center and other amenities, as well as sports fans, with the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Heinz Field nearby.
